As a kid your parents and family are your support network. They raise you, teach you right from wrong, and they support you in pursuing your dreams. If you're lucky enough to be successful at something, your support network has to grow. For me, my community stepped in. Local organizations helped raise money to support me as I worked towards my dream of racing on Canada's National Team. The next step, as with every step, your support network must continue to grow.
Now, I race with the support of a Nation. Large Organizations like Teck Cominco, Comcor Environmental, CBRE, and Volkl support me towards achieving my dreams of winning gold on the World’s stage. And Team sponsors like Bombardier, Husky, Telus and GMC make my sport possible for every young racer in Canada.
However, most of all, it's the support of Canadians that pushes me to work hard and dedicate my life to represent Canada to the best of my abilities. It's my family, my coaches, my organization, the government, and everyday fans that make everything worthwhile.
Nothing is ever done alone. Therefore, thank you to all who have helped me grow and develop as both an athlete and as a person.
